Another beautiful journey to the English country, courtesy of the master Jimbo. This one is a minimalist course but all the more charming for it. The challenge in scoring definitely comes with some of the greens/pins - holes 2 and 8 stick in the memory. And it goes without saying to stay out of the rough! But otherwise it's a fun course to attack for birds. For me the best stretch was holes 13-16, book-ended by two terrific par 3's. A really enjoyable course and it looks gorgeous. Cheers!

This par-71 offers a nice stroll through the English countryside with its small fields and hedges, while birdsongs will entertain you. If, at first, this course appears relatively easy, you will soon find out that it is not the case, especially if your errant shots end up in the high and heavy rough or in the little meandering streams. On the front 9, I like the par-5 1st hole with its very high rough and the par-4 3rd hole, a dogleg to the left with big trees, hiding a big pond and... the fairway. The next holes that deserve to be mentioned are the par-3 6th, very bare but with a gorgeous view of the countryside, and the slightly downhill par-4 8th hole. The back 9, with a lot of slopey greens, will not give you too many birdies. Starting with the par-4 14th, a dogleg to the left over water and trees, things will get tough : the long par-5 15th, a dogleg to the right, has... two fairways (the left one, suggested by the "fly over" camera, and the shorter but tougher one to the right) which will give you a headache, trying to figure out which one to aim for. You will then reach the beautiful par-3 16th hole, with a meandering creek in front, nice bridges around and its small green, before discovering the par-4 17th hole, with its narrow fairway and creek on the left side. Finally, with a nice tee shot over the trees, you might be able to reach the green on your second shot on the par-5 18th hole and get a chance for a (rare) eagle. With its very challenging layout, this course is a definite keeper for me. Congratulations Jimbo63 for designing such an unusual course !

A nice, relaxing jaunt through the trees. Not overly hilly, but there are places where the elevation changes will get you! Great job - again!

Thanks for leaving a comment. Sorry if you had problems Dave. The rough and deep rough are Sawgrass Textures 2009. I did not realizw that they were a problem.

Think that the course is better than the pictures in the Photo Gallery would suggest. Liked the little streams with reed beds on either side. Nice bright lighting effect on a setting of morning, fair. Could almost feel the bracing wind coming in from the North sea. Good bird song. Good work around the greens. Very invigorating course. Can't stretch it to five stars but a worthy four stars.

Another great design Jimbo. I like the wide open feel of your courses, they tend to be a little more forgiving then most. It's nice to be able to rip one off the tee without needing a compass to find your way out of the woods. Thanks man, see you next year.

A course where you feel at home... Nicely playable and sweet landscapes surround you; so is there anything else you could wish? Thanks again Mr. Jimbo. What's next next week?
