Despite its lack of flowers and its bare surroundings beyond the wide fairways and greens, this par 71 plays smoothly and has a few scenic holes with water hazards, not to mention a couple of hidden greens, tough to reach.
I like the front 9 better, starting with the pretty par-3 3rd hole, with a tee shot over a wide lake (with a small island on the right), followed by the left dogleg par-4 4th, with a tee shot over another lake (with a covered bridge on the right) and an approach shot to the elevated green.
The par-4 6th hole is straight but, with a big and elongated bunker in the middle (with trees and a few bushes in it), you will have a choice of two fairways on your tee shot before aiming your approach to the green, surrounded by trees on a small rocky hilltop.
The par-3 7th is another very picturesque hole, with a tee shot over a narrow elongated lake (with a nice little bridge across midway), whereas the par-4 8th is quite different, with a winding fairway and an uphill and blind second shot to the green, hidden by trees, with a nice little barn, behind on the right.
The back 9 has a few long par-5 holes, such as the 11th (almost 590 yards), with a very risky second shot toward the green, guarded by a tiny creek in front (with a couple of rocks in it).
The right dogleg par-4 15th hole, on another hand, is slightly-uphill all the way, with a small hill on the left all along and with a blind second shot toward the green, hidden by trees.
Then, after the pretty par-3 17th hole (another one of my favorites), with fences on both sides of the tee box and a tee shot over a small lake (with a little bridge, slightly to the left), you will finish with the long (around 590 yards) and left dogleg par-5 18th, where you will need to hit your tee shot to the right in order to have a chance to reach the green with your second shot, without being bothered too much by trees on the left side, partially hiding it.
If this Carter's Grove course is well designed by lpartee04 (especially the par-3 holes), it is not overly difficult with its wide fairways but you will have to be careful with your approach shots to the greens if you want to finish with a nice scorecard...

Not sure what happened on mine. It plays fine and I have no lagging, but something funny did occur on hole #6. It is a 358yd Par 4 and each time a player stood up on the tee, the system set the club at a lob wedge (LW). I was playing Coling Montgomerie and Retief Goosen set on Expert and playing the computer. I changed my club to a 3W and ended up in the fairway. The other two played the LW and ended up on the grass just in front of the tee box. Might be because the grass is that one would find on the green. After it was all over, I ended up with a Par, Goosen with a Triple Bogey, and Montgomerie a 13 and condeded the hole. Not that I mind since I came out on top, but not very realistic. Not sure what caused the problem.

I figure the world is 75% water for a reason. That is why I sail.

Great course just played a round and very nice layout some big par 5's! tricky trees to avoid hit one off the fairway and its big trouble! Thanks for this keeper!

Nice work. Tough but very fair. Subtle but tricky greens. Nice layout and planting. Keep it up.
