Says it cannot find file Birkdale.TCL when trying to load course in game. Not in Lbraries and I cannot find the library on this site. Any ideas?

Ive just reached the NEC-WGC event in my custom 2004 season so Ive had the chance to replay this course several times. Spike, KEEP DESIGNING! IMHO, Firestone is a somewhat boring course - a lot of straightaway par 4s, but the recreation here is really stunning. Looks quite accurate, and for a first time designer, nothing is skimped upon - trees look good, clubhouse and tower are there - very fine work. Eminently playable. Really appreciate the touch of using the actual pin placements too - wow. APPLAUSE!

i think i do have the answer to the architect problem. happened while i was building firestone. usually happens when there are too many point on the course. 2 things. 1) sometimes when you lift up, everything goes wacky, drop it back down after any changes and sometimes things go back to normal. 2) optimize outer area at first or second click and that should solve it. happy building!!

Hey Spike,
Yes, I have the patch installed and I know I have all the libraries at least the ones posted. If you accidentally left one out, do you know which one you left out? Then again it probably has nothing to do with the libraries. Ive had this trouble with other courses too. Some work for about 7 or 8 holes just fine and smooth, then mysteriously kick me to the desktop at the end of the 7th of 8th hole just as the game is about to load the next hole. Augusta04 and Pine Vally do this. Also TPC at Sawgrass, a stock course, does this. All other stock courses work fine. Anyway, its not your fault and I dont expect you you know much more than I about computers.
Ive also got a problem with the architect. Maybe you know the answer to this one. After building my course for some time all of a sudden, the next time I try to drop a shape or smooth something out every thing changes wierd colors and on the camera view the rough and fairways appear to be on like different levels and things dont line up ect. Anyway I probably should have posted this on the forum, but maybe you or someone else will see it here anyway. THANKS FOR ANY COMMENTS!

im sorry to hear that. im not the best when it comes to computer problems, the only two things thing i can think of is 1) the ea custom patch is not installed or 2) that maybe all of the libraries arent installed? i apologize for using so many, i didnt realize how many i had till the end, with so many perhaps one accidently got left out? sorry i couldnt be more help. i do know this problem has occured with other courses on this site, though i dont remember which ones, but i remember some good advice in the comments sections. i hope this helps in some small way, sorry it couldnt be more. perhaps someone else will read this and help us out. i do hope that you get to play it.

Looks like a great course but, when I try to play it I get dumped to the desktop. I click tee off then the course attempts to load, then Im dumped to the desktop. Is there anything I caould do to make it work? Ive tried lowering graphical settings, changing the resolution to 800x600, but nothing will make it play.
Thamks for any suggestions, Id really like to play this course!

just thought i should add some better course info. the course was opened in 1929, when Harvey Firestone built the course to be used as a recreational facility for his employees. in 1954 it hosted the Rubber City Open. for the 1960 PGA Championship robert trent jones sr. was brought in and transformed the course completely. since then, it has hosted 2 more PGA championships, 14 American Golf Classics, 8 CBS Golf Classics, the World Series Of Golf, and of course its now the home of the NEC Invitational. I grew up near the course and hopefully reproduced it pretty well. as tiger woods put it so much of what we play is target golf, its nice to play a course that opens itself up. with his record here, he certainly loves it.
(one last side note, seems the moderate pin pos. - rd. 2- seems to be the toughest) at least for me.
