I installed TW 2006.
Where do you download the Course Utilities program?
Also when I saved my own Course (checkmarked tree boxes on export) some of the trees in the game have a black texture. Playing with Graphics settings didn't help. Is there a library problem?
Thanks for the help! |

CourseUtilities.exe in the TW06 bin folder you can also use Jorgen's CLSetup06 in Utilities, Course Installation Tools
black textures usually a shader level setting in graphics |

Here you can find the bin folder jbcalg is talking about:
C:\Program Files (;x86)\EA Sports\Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 06\bin (; course utilities is inside )
CLsetup06 is an automatic course installer, a bit easier to use compared with Course Utilities that came with the game. You can download CLsetup06 here:
On top go to section: Utilities....Utilities and files for TW06.....Course installation tools
When you downloaded and installed CLsetup06 correct, you will find shortcut on your desktop. When you are using Win7 or Vista: On desktop right click CLsetup06 icon.....choose: Properties...compatibilty...and on bottom check box: Run as administrator....and hit: Apply |

If you have already tried setting the shader level to low in the graphics and the trees are still black then it could be a library issue. What libs are you using for the trees, if you use libs from the stock 2008 courses you should not have any problems. |

I am using the Tiger Woods 2006 game. I picked trees from a few courses like TPC. They are all black and some have like merged the bushes I laid down onto the tree branches, it's weird.... lol Why do the regular courses work fine(on max settings too)?
Thanks again!!!! |

The custom courses are much tougher to render for your system, compared with the stock courses. Looks like a graphics card problem, maybe you are using a laptop with a graphic chipset. Graphic chipsets are not as strong as a seperate graphics card. This is what you can try: Install a few TW06 custom courses, and look if you have the same problem on the other custom courses. |

Really confused by this? |

From the course file you emailed I have discovered what the problem is. I think that you are compiling the course in Windows 7 and it will not compile correctly in Windows 7. You need to compile the course in Windows XP. I tried compiling in Windows 7 and the trees do not work, however once compiled in Windows XP they are OK. When I originally switched over to Windows 7, I was still able to use my older PC which had XP on it to compile courses. I have now managed to get XP running as a virtual machine on my Windows 7 PC, but to do this I think that you need Windows 7 Professional or higher to download the software from Microsoft. You might find this website useful
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7.
If you are unable to get XP to compile your courses a request on the forum will always find you a helpful compiler. Enjoy your future course designing. |
