Hi fellow golfers!I recently purchased a new pc which has Vista Home Premium. When I try to load TW08, it gives me a error message,,,stating,,,u must have Direct X 9 or higher. I checked my pc and it has Direct X 10. I am at lost as to how to work around this. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thank You in advanced---Bosshogg669

there is a reg edit for this where you change a 0 to a 1 but I cant remember the key to change, you could try running the install in compatibilty mode, right click on the install exe. and click on properties, there will be a tab to pick compatibility mode.

from EA forum - back up your registry first (export and save it in menu selections)

DirectX Error FIX :
Heres how:
1. Start the installer as usual, get to the message that tells you about the DirectX problem, do not press OK.
2. Click the "Start" button, then click "Run", type "regedit" without quotes.
3. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\A pp Paths\TW2008.exe in the registry tree.
4. Find the key titled "DirectX Installed".
5. Change it's value from 0 to 1.
6. Press Ctrl-Alt-Tab and close the Autorun. exe process.
7. Now start the installation again. You'll skip the DirectX check this time.

you say press ctrl-alt-tab, but when i do this, nothing happens. do you mean ctrl-alt-del in order to bring up the task manager where you can close autorun?

Yes....you have to close the autorun.exe.....doesn t matter how you do it.
I am using the keys: ALT + TAB.........after that close autorun.exe

Now start the installation again. Youll skip the DirectX check this time.

a faster way to pull up the task manager is just right click on a blank spot on the task bar at the bottom of your screen , it pulls up a menu and the task manager is in there
