I posted this message and now cannot find it.. so please bear with me.. if it shows up twice. I uninstalled cltool and tried to reinstall it and I keep getting an error message which reads. " Failed to remove cloaked entry for course with ID=(1174D887-4FA9-A8C0-90B0E7FB322B) This course will remain in the cloaked store but will not be listed on screen. " I have again downloaded cltool and tried to install it but I keep getting the error message and I have to do a soft boot to get back to the desktop. the error message will not be erased when I click on the red x in upper right hand corner. |

Hiya Hop, I tried to find that course on my system, but can t find a course with that registry number. Maybe it is a CGX course, so i have send a message to one of the CGX administrators if he knows what course it is. When we know the name of the course, then you can reinstall it, and that should fix the problem.
When we can t find the name of the course, then you will have to delete the number in the windows registry. I can help you with that, but lets wait a bit maybe someone will know the name of the problem course. What system are you using: Win7 or win8 or win10 ?

Hello Bob,
I think the only way is to remove the invalid course number in the registry. So you will have to find this number in the registry: 1174D887-C03D-4FA9-A8C0-90B0E7FB322B It looks a bit complicated but not so hard to do, try to follow the steps below:
Go to your desktop, and on bottom left side you should have the Start icon Right click on the icon, and in the list choose: Run Now in the Run box type this: regedit And click: OK After a bit a new screen will pop up Now look at the left side, and you will see small triangles, with the small triangles you can open folders. Click the small triangle on top and it will open a tree ( maybe it is already open )
Now look for a folder named: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE And click on the small triangle at left side of it
Now you should find a folder named: SOFTWARE And click on the small triangle at left side of it
Now you should find a folder named: Wow6432Node And click on the small triangle at left side of it
Now you should find a folder named: EA Sports And click on the small triangle at left side of it
Now you should find a folder named: Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08 And click on the small triangle at left side of it
Now you should find a folder named: Courses And click on the small triangle at left side of it
There you will see all the course numbers, the numbers are sorted from low to high Here you have to find the course number you have problems with, normally you should find it in the list ( 1174D887-C03D-4FA9-A8C0-90B0E7FB322B ) When you found the number, right click on the number and choose: Delete You will be asked if you want to delete it, say: Yes
When deleted close everything, and try to start CLTool again and look if it works now |

Pat.. Thanks that did the trick. For hose who are following this thread..A course was blocking my cltool and I had to delete it before I could get into cltool. I did delete it and I am now able to use cltool. thanks to Pat (gunpower61). There were other problems but not due to my cltool problem. But I am happy to say I am all set and no problems.. Thanks also to John and Dave two golf buddies and friends of mine. I am blessed. Bob Belanger (Hop352) |
