Course Architect Comments
Bramshaw Golf Club is the oldest golf course in Hampshire.
Situated in the heart of the New Forest, players will encounter wild animals such as ponies, deer, sheep and a few cattle which are able to roam freely due to a royal decree, by King William I in 1079.
The decree is still in force today.
The Forest course built by Philip de Crespigny in 1865, is a par 69 at 5,787 yards in length.
By utilising the undulating terrain and numerous streams and ditches (classed as hazard), the course demand accurate tee and good approach shots to well manicured greens.
Note that some greens are protected by fencing to prevent grazing on the greens by ponies and sheep.
