Course Architect Comments

On the northeast coast of England between Scarbrough and Whitby the North Yorkshire moors drop dramatically towards the North sea.It is a contrasting land of wild lonely moor and secret dales but despite its rolling heather and broom covered land it lacks any golf course of truelly championship standard with the exception of possibly Ganton.
Ravenscar has hints of Pebble Beach and Cypress Point iff one uses some imagination and follows the traditional links layout of there and back again.Iff the ever present breeze is behind you it is safe to say it will be straight into your face on the back nine.It is long but not overly so and tho it is essential to drive well once the generally ample greens are found birdies are a distinct possibillty.
