Another course that i seem to of missed speaking about , just a visually stunning course that i have played so many times as i have a very high regard for the designer and all his great work over the years, many thanks once again and i really hope there will be plenty more over the years.

After just finishing playing the 2013 course, I can now compare it with this version and add comments to my previous ones, written below (on July 27, 2020).
Let me just start by saying that both versions are superb, no matter which one you will choose to play and... keep !
Four years after its first release by rlslay, this version has a few changes, the most important one being the 2nd hole which is now a par-5 (522 yards compared to... 510 yards, making the course a par 72).
As for the other changes, the most noticeable ones are from... mother nature ! With time, sand has eroded the coastline and the most spectacular example is on the par-5 18th : on the 2013 version, you see the ocean real close to the cliffs as you get ready to tee off, whereas on the 2017 version, you see the sand next to the cliffs !
Another example of this transformation is on the par-3 7th hole, where the sea in 2013 was right behind the green, whereas "now" you see big rocks instead...
Other "cosmetic" changes include the presence of a big tree on the right side in front of the tee box on the par-4 4th hole, not visible in 2013, just like on the par-4 6th hole, where a couple of trees are now visible, midway near the cliffs... when there were none in 2013 !
As always with time, a course can benefit from a few minor changes in its layout So if you want to play the latest version, you won''t be disappointed with this masterpiece but, as I said before, the 2013 version was one already, even without the cameras towers and grandstands, now part of the scenery...

Certainly one of the best courses in the world and this rendition is stunning - much more vivid and detailed than the stock version - and thankfully a tad more challenging, just as it should be. Got a little laggy at times but man whatever.. more than happy to wait. A great journey to see this course anew - I just soaked it up all the way, so much fun. Hat's off Mr Rslsay, utterly brilliant work, cheers!

The course plays very smoothly (I used TW07) and the landscape is gorgeous. My only "regret" is the color of the sea (starting from the 5th to the 11th hole), way too dark, especially after I just finished playing Cypress Point 08 where the sea is so beautiful (check 13th, 14th holes for example).
Since there are many versions of Pebble Beach, I will compare it to the 2013 version you did but, nevertheless, this course is an all-time favorite for all of us.

Played 2 rounds - in the middle of AT&T tournament. Love this course and it plays smooth and looks good. Greens as said are more hard than usual - but like playing a real course, you need to quickly adjust for that. Each course stands on it`s own merit. I even found the rough (to me) seemed longer than average rough on other courses - again need to adjust for it. That's what makes it unique. Great Course! Thanks for your hard work and attention to detail. Thank you for sharing.

thanks for the replies guys. FYI Pat, both the files are "Read" only.
I'll try to do a screen capture if possible for this "out of sync", it's a little "complicated" as the golfer is in the middle of the screen and almost double the size and everything is "blurry". Let me try to play the course again later and see if I'm "lucky" to grab a capture.

McAlfie

Hi mcalfie...i tried the course on several tees ( pro tee....tournament tee...etc...) and i didn t experience any problems at all.
Not sure what out of sync means, but i suggest you lower the graphics settings as rlslay said in the previous post.

Also be sure to do the confidence folder fix:
There is a bug in the TW08 game, all members should do this fix.
When you played some courses you will see the loading times between holes are increasing, the game will become slower and slower.
Do next steps to solve the problem:

1) On desktop you will see the folder My Documents. Open this folder.
( when you are using Vista or Win7 or Win8: on desktop look for folder: User (or username).....inside you will find: Documents )
2) Inside Documents look for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2008. Open this folder and then open the folder Career
3) Inside Career open the folder Players. Inside this folder, look for your playersname folder and open it.
4) Open the folder Confidence.
5) Inside you will find these files: Hole Type.tcn and Shot Type.tcn. delete both files.
6) Important step here! Restart the TW08 game and play 1 hole on any stock course, then close TW08 game.
7) Go back to same Confidence folder and you will see both files are regenerated: but now they are very small in size. Now right click the Hole Type.tcn file and choose Properties.
Check the box next to Read Only and click OK. Now do the same thing for the Shot Type.tcn file.

Hi mcalfie..... i'll try and help by saying maybe start with the lowest setting on the graphics then see it will play, never had that "out of sync" on a course before. Most my course are pro tee's tested only ..... I hope someone else know's how to solve your problem or Gunpower thanks again for playing my courses

@rlslay: At certain holes, back tee, pro tee or tournament tee can't be played(Can't tee off as graphics there is "out of sync"), any ideas what causes this? A number of CGX courses I've the same problem too but then this is one course that I want to play for the full 18 holes.

Thanks!

McAlfie

You are correct rlslay...it only takes a few moments to comment on a course creation. I do at times do not comment when I download a course. And I apologize for that. So THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your contiued great work and time to keep bring us members of this great site

I would like to give thanks to every TW08 pc golfer who downloaded this course and all of the other courses of mine and then return to leave a comment. If you played the course and enjoy it, I am very glad and thankful you had a good experience and that was what I was trying to promote. If you played the course or other courses of mine and you had problems or did not like something I am glad you still returned to leave a comment and let me know, and I can try and fix or correct or not do in the next course, ( I can learn too ). I do understand that we all have different taste and styles and sometimes they don't match. I try as hard as I can to make each one of my courses the best I can and try to catch all errors, faults, and anything else that will keep you playing the game. This is no excuse ... but it is very easy for ANY DESIGNER who builds a course and share his or her work, only to find a comment that criticizes that course, or worst, no comments, can be totally disappointed and hurting. We have less designer uploading courses for less TW08 pc Golfers to play and have become a smaller community than in past years but we are still the best. With that being said..... I would like to make a REQUEST .. can we as a smaller group show our appreciation by returning to the course you downloaded and played and leave a comment? PLEASE... Two CGX course release in the past days and only 2 comment. I am sure those guys from CGX or other designers who spent their time creating their courses look every day to read a comment. We leave comments in the shout box that disappears in a day or two but can't post it also in the comments of the downloaded course? It does make a designer feel ungrateful for sharing his or her work with all who download and play and no one returns to leave a comment, it only takes seconds too do. Thanks again and hope all courses uploaded and then downloaded and played will have comments..... rlslay

Pebble Beach has always been one of my favorite courses and this one too is beautiful. I have to comment on the greens, however, I usually see these ungreen greens on PGX courses with the bounciness. Makes the yardage very difficult to figure the proper yardage. I think this was a PGX course but all the PGX markings have been removed. Regardless of those two complaints you are one of the best designers out there and our group G4F plays all your course---keep em coming

Robert, it's a honour to me to give first comments on this very, very detailed course.
(Had to take a rest after each stroke to look around in admiration).
I think I remember another Rislay Pebble Beach, which also a was great one, and so is this...
Thank you for all the hours you spent in making this masterpiece!
