Another good course that runs well using TW 08 , and with playing advanced and with tough settings seemed very fair to me, many thanks for sharing.

Just to add to my post here. I now know and see what is being talked about here. I think when Willie understands how to remedy these things he will be putting out some outstanding courses.

Willie, one word.... tutorials,..... take the assistance offered by these talented designers. I have been following your courses for a couple of seasons now and its true, you crank out customs at a dizzying pace, and I keep reading similar critiques about them. I went through this one hole by hole and took screen shots of what I saw. If you would like, Ill share my findings with you, if only to help you to see some things maybe you missed.

Willie ... I would be more than happy to test one of your courses prior to release. I will give you detailed feedback with any suggestions from a designers viewpoint.

Let me know if youre interested on one of your future courses.

I thought this course looked fine and was very well designed. I have absolutely no lag at all.

I may be the odd man out as far as my comment on this course, but I played it through two times and am still trying to figure out what these creases are and where they are at. If it means sharp creases in the elevation changes, I just dont see it, as they all appear to be rounded and natural looking on my system. I even played a couple of other highly rated courses just to compair and the elevation changes look natural and nice just as they appear to me to look on this course. I am wondering if the system and or the graphics card has something to do with this. I feel somewhat miffed about this because I just cant figure out what is being talked about here.

My system would probably be considered a low end of the high end systems. It is a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ with one gig of RAM and a ATI X1600 pro with 256 mb memory. I play the game with all graphic setting on high except bloom and depth of field which I have turned off. I have also taken the lens flare folder out of the game. This phenomenon has interested me. Could someone please PM me a screenshot or two of what these creases look like on this course. I realize that we are really supposed to go into detail like this in this forum, but I would really like to know what it is that I am not seeing. Thanks.

Willie : It is a shame you have taken offence at my comments. I neither wanted to cause offence or for you to take any...I was simply trying to offer advice and feedback.

However, it was quite wrong of you to assume I have no PC knowledge regarding lag etc.

First, you have assumed I was playing online....I wasnt! I was playing off line, so your arguments do not stand up. Lag in game is also associated with smoothness of play (as most designers will acknowledge) and that is where I had issue. Jerky motion in ball flight etc.
However, thats not really the main issue with creases.

Just in case you are tempted, please dont start suggesting its my vid card either, as I have 4, very high spec M/Cs, 2 of which have over 4 Gig RAM and dual card capability, on which | played your course!

I believe I was right to put this in a public forum as you have not supplied course screenshots, so it is difficult to know what your course actually looks like etc. Dont get me wrong however, I am not warning off possible downloaders, more a case of be prepared.

I was just trying to offer some advice in how to improve. ie: tutorials. You claim to have worked for 4 months on this one course! Not sure how this works as you have claimed similar time periods for previous courses and yet you have also released 22 courses this year alone....TW07 came out in Aug/Sept 06...now, with your current and previous claims of 2-4 mths per course design...well, mathematically speaking, it doesnt take much to realise your claims of time spent on each course, is quite frankly, an exageration!

I do however hope you continue designing, although in my own opinion, you will only improve when actually accepting help and advice plus acting on it, from others around you.

Finally, the only reason I have not put this post in a pm to you, is because of your own post contents.

ZB thanks for you comments.
The course is fully optimised

100% Bunker tex is the same .. All other comments are well taken and i worked this course over 4 months .
lag on your computer can be caused by the packets sent to the ea server is 2 high or your isp signal is over loaded or very busy and not tranmitting data effectively. There are many reason why computer s lag on some games so dont put it out there its caused by creases.
I take your comments as given but it your right not to d/l any courses my name is attached to .
This information should have be in a pm to me only and not in a public forum.

Far from excellent in my opinion

Willie, I fear you need to view some tutorials on course design, you would reap some rewards if you did. I gave up on this course (first one I have ever tried) after 5 holes due to the following factors:

1. Creases absolutely everywhere!! This causes lag and is very unsightly to view. from the first Tee where there is an absolute mother of creases tearing up the tee box. Following this, on every elevated edge of every hole layout I played, there are real nasty edges that need serious smoothing.

2. Bunkers are just deep pits with more edge creases. There has been no attempt to create a bunker with or without a lip, just a simple drop in elevation. Not pretty and not clever. There also seems to be different sand textures in use and no common theme.

3. On three of the greens I played...there were creases. In addition, there were just lumps that had been created with no smoothing and probably little optimising.

4. Objects not planted, such as red markers and tees.

To be honest, I am very suprised you released this course. It needs some serious work and finishing.

I was willing to give you the benefit of doubt after what some others have written about your courses, but alas, I am very dissappointed. You seem to simply bang out courses left right and centre and if this is a typical example of your work, Im afraid it is the last course I will be trying from you.

Do yourself a favour, read the tutorials available, practice design without releasing and for goodness sake, get a few experienced designers/players to test your courses prior to release.

Also, take a close look at some of the other work by designers out there, try to emulate what impresses you and then put your own twist on things. Take more time. I have had to learn too bud, my first courses were terrible but over time, I feel I have improved. These days, it takes between 1-3 months and at least 50 test rounds with friends before I dream of release. Last example was co-working on Royale Montreal.

I have screenshots if you wish to view the issues I found.

Im really sorry that I couldnt find anything positive to say about this course. I hope in time, you will take heed of the advice given not just by myself but by others who have left comments in the past. If not, you will find fewer people downloading your courses and thats a shame for any designer.
