I certainly meant no bad will towards anyone. I thought that my second post which addressed the round I played WAS constructive. I tried to point out things that needed improvment. I will try and be nicer about it next time. I surely hope I dont end up with enimies over this. I respect the work that went into this course and truly meant nothing against the architect. I respect all courses and the work that goes into them. I was incorrect and thought this was a first time designer, though comments on improvments still stand.

Guys, I am not trying to turn this into a popularity contest. Did anyone every read my long post where I tried to be helpful? I ever offered to talk with the designer privately if he was upset. I didnt trash the course. If you guys knew me, I do this to a lot of courses. I give what I feel is an honest review and try to offere suggestions. I am just trying to help people. As for my courses falling and then rising again...YES, I do take pride in my courses and I do enjoy seenig them rated well, and I do pay attention, so what? I had 53 votes last night and was at 47th. I now have 44 votes. What that means is that an admin removed votes that must have been all zeros or something. No one went in and added a bunch of fluffy votes to help me. This always tends to happen when someone gives their honest opinion. I have rated many other courses less than favorable, and I have rated many courses much higher than my own. I apologize for starting something over nothing here. I did not want to make enimies, I just wanted to help out designers to get better.

im not real sure what happened here guys, but about file size, i can tell you the reson file is so small compared to some is that i have some tricks to make it smaller file.and to who posted that i dont care about ratings , are correct. dont matter to me what peeps rate it. this course is a very nice course i feel. both noodlespins , and i worked many months on it.and ya ive designed several 99 courses, and ya 2k4 has more to play with , and ya i do it cause i love the game , and i do it because peeps want me to. i mean who else has a tattoo on there arm that has a pic of a guy on a green , with a sand trap and a flag putting on it , and says mreagle on top of the tattoo. lol ya im a crazy old fart , but i make course , because i love you guys that play them. i will do it till the day i die.

laterz , mreagle

dude if ya dont know who koc is u misssing out, and i didnt mean to start a ripping war on anyone i meant to let people know that there is a bad misconception about file size and peopleshouldnt make judgments according to the size! koc does some of the best work around fellas and im pretty sure he didnt mean it the way it sounded when he said about file size. Im sure this is a good effort on this course and really only wanted to point out the file size thing so others wouldnt get the same idea

BTW, i knew I would get flamed and Im not upset. I just prefer to give honest, constructive critism. Im not being mean, just honest. I like to help instead of giving people the token GREAT JOB!!!! I would hope others would do the same to me with my courses.

Ill try to keep this as short as possible.

WHY do people online seem to take critism for a golf course as the worst thing in the world, and you are immediatly a bad guy. I played the course. To be honest, I gave it a 3 for looks, a 6 for challenge, and a 4 for playability. I dont see why you would give someone higher scores for a first attempt course. The goal is to get better, not perfect things on your first course. You should expect pretty low scores on first attempts.

I thought the cousre was decent. Certainly playable, but there were at least 5-6 spots/holes/greensites I found to be nearly unplayable. Some forced carries that were pretty much impossible for someone on Intermediate. The tees werent spaced well to provide an easier setup for these people. The elevations were harsh in a lot of areas and overoptimized. THe textures didnt mix well, the rough was way too green IMO. Greens had no continuity, some 100 yards and some literally 10 yards square. The planting seemed random and didnt flow.

It is not a terrible first effort. Glad a tried it. The designer certainly has potential. Constructive critism will only help if it is taken as intended. Whoever rated the course nearly perfect is not helping this designer get better.

Good effort. Keep working at it and you will get better. The technical aspects were very good. I know it was a Fantasy design, but it felt nothing at all like a golf course to me.

Mr. Eagle, if you would like any further comments on ways to improve, or want deeper insight, leave me a message. I know designing is hard as Ive been at it for years and years, but you have potential and you will improve!

koc its because if incorrect comments like the one you just made about the file size, that people, who really are new or dont understand how the CA works, believe that the bigger the course file is the better or more complete the course is. People if you are under that impression, dont be!! The worst thing to base your decision whether to dl a course or not on is the file size. Sometimes a course is designed as a links stlye course or an oceanfront course which doesnt require as many of the extras that are added in the design which add greatly to the filesize. One the other end of the spectrum there are alot of new designers who dont optimize a very basic course and that course ends up being 27mb when it should have only been 2mb. So a note to the wise, let the proof be in the pudding not the packaging. Some of the best courses this year have been under 10mg!

ok, this might get me ripped...but who rated this course first? 5 stars for looks and playability and 4.5 for challenge?!?! Its a 7mb course which means it doesnt have much to it, and all comments are centered around a poorly set up driving hole, and a score of -15....challenging of 4.5?!
